In our latest podcast, we look at the two big results from a wild night that show once again that there will be a lot of teams in the top spot. We also look at scoring difficulties and what may be behind them, as well as a triumphant return to action for one young man and an ACC that isn’t as deep as usual.
The last game of the day was a big one in Ames, where the home team got a much-needed quality win. Plus the other team lost more than a game, an ACC power’s scoring struggles continue, and two teams got big road wins on the day.
The Big Ten/ACC Challenge had a couple of its headline games on tap, and both were convincing wins for the ACC school though the series is all tied up. That, and a few other notes from Tuesday night.
Duke got a test in the final, but they took home the 2K Empire Classic. That and much more from those two nights at Madison Square Garden is right here.
On a day where football took center stage, a school known for its success on the gridiron saw continued success on the hardwood thanks to a guy who can just coach. Plus the Spartans get a big win in the nation’s capital, a few other results of note, and one big tournament announces its field for next year.
One of the last games of the night was all we could hope for and more, and also leaves one hopeful about future matchups between the two teams. Plus more tournaments get going, a straw breaks the camel’s back with transfer waivers, and a Wildcat is gone from the program.
At long last, Texas gets the kind of win they had yet to pick up under Shaka Smart, and not a moment too soon. Plus a Pirate star is out for a bit, a bounceback attempt continues, and some extra sessions were needed on the day.
The season is finally here, and with it is our podcast looking ahead to the season and talking about one final off-court matter, for now at least. Plus a bad break in Florida, a suspension continues, and great news out of Texas.
With the season getting closer all the time, we look at some of what to watch for this season after we talk about the issues surrounding opening night. In particular, we look at the teams to beat, who could win National Player of the Year, and teams getting undersold or oversold in the conversation about this season.
For the first time in 15 years, the Big 12 champion was not Kansas. The league was once again atop conference rankings, though, led by a program whose rise the past couple years very nearly resulted in a national title.
